VT Tax Assistance - Follow Up Meeting

  • Broad Brook Community Center 3940 Guilford Center Road Guilford, VT 05301 USA (map)

The Town of Guilford is partnering with SEVCA, VITA, and BBCC to assist taxpayers with federal and state tax preparation, Vermont Homestead Declaration and Property Tax Credit claims, Vermont Renter Rebate claims and more!

Get Help with Vermont's Property Tax Credit
Many Vermonters are eligible for the state's Property Tax Credit, which can significantly reduce the amount you owe on your property taxes. If you own your home as your primary residence, you may qualify — even if you don't usually file an income tax return.

To help Guilford residents, SEVCA's tax program VITA will be hosting two free informational workshops Tuesday, January 20th at the Guilford Town Office. We'll walk you through who qualifies, what information you need, and how to complete the Homestead Declaration and Property Tax Credit claim. And that's just the start. Once tax season begins, SEVCA volunteers will also be available in Guilford at the Broad Brook Community Center for one-on-one appointments. You'll be able to sit down with a trained preparer who can either file your full return for you or guide you in submitting your own homestead declaration.

When & Where:
Workshops - Tuesday, January 20, from 9:00-10:15am, and repeating from 10:30-Noon at the Town Office (same workshop offered twice, with Q&A time included)
