VT Tax Assistance

  • Broad Brook Community Center 3940 Guilford Center Road Guilford, VT 05301 USA (map)

Many Vermonters are eligible for the state’s Property Tax Credit, which can significantly reduce the amount you owe on your property taxes. If you own your home as your primary residence, you may qualify—even if you don’t usually file an income tax return.

To help Guilford residents, SEVCA’s tax program will be hosting a free workshop right here at the BBCC. They will walk you through who qualifies, what information you need to bring, and how to complete the Homestead Declaration and Property Tax Credit claim. And that’s just the start. Once tax season begins, SEVCA volun teers will also be available in Guilford for one-on-one appointments. You’ll be able to sit down with a trained preparer who can either file your full return for you or guide you in submitting your own homestead declaration.

For more information about specific dates and sign-up information, keep an eye out for announcements on Front Porch Forum, and the Guilford Town website:
