Join us at the Broad Brook Community Center for a special evening celebrating the recent reprint of the beloved Vermont humor classic, Real Vermonters Don’t Milk Goats, written by longtime Vermont journalist, author, and legislator Bill Mares and political scientist Frank Bryan.

First published in 1983, Real Vermonters Don’t Milk Goats affectionately poked fun at the differences between longtime Vermonters and the newcomers discovering the Green Mountain State, a theme that remains remarkably recognizable today.

Stop by for the monthly Community Potluck at 6pm, then stay til 7pm to hear the stories behind this uniquely Vermont book, enjoy a little good-natured Vermont humor, and celebrate the life and work of author Bill Mares. Bill Mares partner, Chris Hadsel, will be on hand to share stories about Bill, discuss the history and enduring humor of the book, and talk about its newly revived edition.
